I am pleased to introduce myself. My name is Vitor Bruno, an innovation specialist.
Since my initial academic training in environmental engineering at the Santo André Foundation University Center, I have had the privilege of interning at prominent organizations such as CETESB (Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo) and SABESP (Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo). During this period, I acquired valuable experience in the environmental area, such as transforming the Unit Operations discipline into an effective template tool using electronic spreadsheets and software for designing and planning Water Treatment Plants (WTPs). In addition, my career path included a collaboration with INPE (BrazilianNational Institute for Space Research), where I developed a pioneering study on the detection of fecal coliforms through satellite images, a unique approach that allows the observation of human activities from space (read it here).
My passion for entrepreneurship and innovation blossomed during my time in Florianópolis, where, having seen opportunities, I developed an English teaching methodology based on pairs, processes, projects and purposes. This innovative approach proved effective and led me to teach classes for more than 100 people, as well as to take on the role of pedagogical coordinator in an English course focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
My journey included a series of courses and experiences that broadened my academic and professional horizons, including participation as a mentor in events such as Startup Weekends (4) and Hackathons (5). In addition, I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in innovation through a course at the University of California Berkeley (UC Berkeley), where I learned how to validate startups with the Silicon Valley mindset. My leadership in the startup community Startup Grind and the organization of large-scale events, including a hackathon for NASA, were significant milestones in my career. My search for knowledge did not stop there. After a stay in Silicon Valley, during which I had the privilege of meeting world leaders and participating in events at renowned companies, I returned to Brazil with a renewed passion for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. This passion led me to pursue a specialization in instructional design, recognizing the need for innovative pedagogical approaches in entrepreneurship. Through Google scholarships, I explored areas such as User Experience Design and Project Management. In addition, I deepened my knowledge in innovation management at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).
My journey culminated in the pursuit of a master’s degree in technological innovation at UNIFESP, where I began to develop an academic and scientific entrepreneurship framework, with the goal of transforming academic work into business opportunities. This research was recognized with a grant from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and contributed to the improvement of the Innovative Research Program in Small Businesses/PIPE-Empreendedor.
